He made an already selfish character even more insidious and vapid than the text requires. I'll be curious to see more reviews, but I fled. I wanted to be home, warm, hanging with my pets."

To those of you who left at intermission, (or just somehow didn’t enjoy this play) I believe you missed out on something really cute a

7pm Show this evening, Kyle and Erin were my pair (so it does seem that pairs are locked to times, but we did have three understudies on, including for Raoul. But the best part, we had a show stop ON THE ROOF. Sounded like her mic/the piped in score was completely just not working. I could hear her fine enough, but I get how it wasn't feasible to continue. It was maybe 5-7 mins in total, but the way the show is staged and timed, they couldn't just restart the scene, Erin had

PRIDEBILLS ARE HERE!!
 Jun 2 2025, 06:08:08 PM

Not Pridebills, but ATG have Pride Souvenir cups, at least at the Hudson. I Imagine their other venues will have them too with June in full swing.

This feels like a first, not that I’m a souvenir cup collector, but they will only be here for a limited time, I’d assume, so get em while they’re hot!

Who is winning Featured Actress in a Play ?
 Apr 25 2025, 11:48:40 PM

My nominee predictions would be:
Jessica Hecht
Kara Young
Mare WInningham
Marjan Neshat
Helena WIlson

My pick would be Jessica Hecht, but would honestly not be upset with any of these 5 winning!

Adam Lambert Cabaret 1/22 Matinee Audience Behavior
 Jan 22 2025, 10:49:40 PM

Just saw this on Facebook, and I thought it worth sharing here.

“An open letter to Adam Lambert,

This afternoon at Cabaret, as you were finishing the song "If You Could See Her" and you held the gorilla's face in your hands to say "She wouldn't look Jewish at all," you were but were cut off by people in the audience laughing at the joke. Not nervous laughter, not shocked laughter, but people who found the surprise that it was a Jewish gori

Robbie2 said: "Has the Longacre ever had a long running hit show? Everything seems to last less than a year around 6 months or so."

The original production of Children of a Lesser God ran for a bit over 850 performances. Though that was way back in 1980. Recent "long-er" running shows were Leopoldstadt, A Bronx Tale, and the 2010 revival of La Cage aux Folles. Those are the ones that jump out at me from Wikipedia, but it definitely does not host shows longe

'Swept Away’ to Close on Broadway December 15

That Tammy Faye ran longer than this is… something. Yet, Broadway is “raking in the money” given the Thanksgiving grosses. It’s sad really.

It took me literally until the final day of the month, but with help from friends both new and old, and a TON of persistence, I have collected the entire Legacy Playbill Collection for every show!

At "The Hills of California" they were all mixed together and it was luck of the draw. At intermission I found them (like Jordan) all behind the last seat in the orchestra and now have the collection.

What irked me was that most patrons just left them on the f

Gavin Creel has passed away
 Oct 2 2024, 10:13:48 PM

I work in a theater office and when one person found out, the news swept the office and everyone was just gathered around computer screens and the room fell silent, which on a Monday morning is not typical.

I can't really say why this loss hits me so hard, but I just think he was one of the kindest, most talented performers to ever do it. His voice was smooth as butter, and to lose him so young, and SO FAST! It's crushing.

I was lucky enough to see him in every NY stage

I doubt there's a chain here, and reddit might be better suited for this request, but I collect Playbills, and would be curious to see if anyone (local or not) would want to create some kind of hunting chain? I'm a local and have pretty easy access to a handful of theaters Playbills that I would use as trade material. If anyone wants to DM, maybe we can spend the month helping each other?!

Robert Downey Jr to make Broadway debut in Ayad Akhtar's McNeal at Lincoln Center

I gave up after the linctix queue was crashed close to an hour and just walked to Lincoln Center. (Yes I have the luxury of working on 9th, about a 20 minute walk away.) And got, what I think, are fantastic seats for $32 for my first choice of date.

I was a lapsed member, but rejoined for this, so, for about $140 including fees, I got a seat in orchestra row H of the 300s for the last Saturday of previews, a seat which would almost certainly be a $300+ premium for the general sale."

For that price I could see 3-4 shows easy. That’s my justification.

He was apparently the person hit by a NJ transit train this morning. Which truly makes the circumstances all the more tragic.
