YUP! They played the Sweethearts. So, we can add that, Elegies, and Our Hearts Sing to the recordings list.
And they're featured on other CDs together even though they're not singing together. Like the Stephen Schwartz Album, the Christmas Survival Guide, that Sondheim CD...
ALICE! DUH! I love Emily, but Alice is a package! I couldnt help but laugh at all the people who said Emily is versatile... I mean, her voice can only do so much (even though i do love her). Alice sounds different all the time. She has her theatre belt, rocker belt, folk belt, legit, mix, ETC. AND HER ACTING IS OFF THE HOOK!
REmember, I love them both, but ALICE is BY FAR my pick.

Okay, keeping in mind that I love Alice dearly...
HOW can you say Emily is more limited than Alice? I'm going to avoid COMPARING the two. That said, Emily is an incredibly well versed actress. She can have an extraordinary sense of realism in a role or be completely zany and over the top. And her VOICE? Just because it's always warm and rich and she can't belt high G's doesn't mean it's not VERSATILE. The woman can sing the phonebook and it would still sound better than about 95% of the woman on Bway today. Have you heard her solo album? That right there proves her versatility. There's not one song on that CD that is like the other and she masters them ALL!
...annnnd... in the words of Carolee Carmello...
I have nothing more to say to you.
*snap*
hey now, no snaps allowed!
Obviously we both like both performers... which is great. I will agree that Emily is a very versatile actress, but everything I've heard of hers is approached the same vocally (and yes, I do have her solo recording... which prooves I still love her). I just find Alice more versatile vocally. I think together the combination is off the hook. it's too bad they haven't done anything together for a while. It's great that they both have individual and collective fans. So, let's not snap and use Carolee recklessly (as i love her as well). Let's unite and support both!
DAISY- I realize you're a big fan, but there is no need to give everyone your two sense each time we post OUR opinions. It's a friggin thread to see which one we personally like better! So naturally there will be various factors for each post-er to decide which one he or she likes better.....guess wha? We're allowed! When I said Emily was a "mess" I'm allowed....you don't know what I mean by it, you also didn't ASK, I meant that she's CRAZY...and now you prolly think I mean "insane" but NO! I don't. I mean that she can do anything, and she is crazy the way she sings, acts, it's just completely out there and I like that. I like Alice too but there's certain things she does that I don't enjoy and when I post them, people just need to take it with a grain of salt if they're going to start a "which do you like better" thread, I'm going to post WHICH ONE I LIKE BETTER.
I'm sorry, but it's just irritating that you have to correct everyone and be the DEFINITIVE alice and emily source. It's just a fun little thread....why the drama!?

I apologize that my post came across as abrasive and pigheaded. However, as this is a public message board, I'm allowed to throw in my two "sense" whenever I feel so compelled as do the rest of you.
You have to understand how one would assume a comment such as, "Emily's a mess!" could easily be misconstrued as a PERSONAL attack, even if it wasn't meant to be. Granted, your opinion of her personally and/or professionally is YOUR business, but I was rather put off by the way I perceived the comment. So... perhaps I got a bit defensive, but surely you can understand why.
As for my last post, it was meant to be in a light hearted nature and I meant no harm. That was my opinion and the snap and quote were not meant to offend, just humor. :) Maybe I should have added a little smiley face at the end...
