I can kind of see them getting rid of the whole balcony at $20 thing. That's actually kind of crazy, BUT I also don't think it's right not to offer any form of $20-ish tix...be it the last row or two of the balcony, rush, a lotto, SRO, etc. Chances are, folks like Liotte and Thenardier have put in a lot more money into the show w/ the cheap seats than they would have w/o any "dirt cheap" option. They go regularly, bring new people sometimes (I'm guessing)...While $20 is super cheap for tix that you can buy in advance, I also think something can be said of having slightly lowered ticket prices w/ a fuller house. I was SHOCKED to see that Sweet Charity's full priced orchestra tix were $112!!! Geez, is it really any shock that they're running in the 60s? I could rant on and on about this, but I'll spare you.
But when did New Hampshire become--Such a backward wasteland of seatbelt hating crazies?...I mean, only 40 people actually live there. The others are just visitors who come for the tax-free liquor and three inches of novelty coastline. John Hodgeman on The Daily Show (1-30-07)
