I was expecting them to raise those last row rows up to $39 because when I went last week, I got 2nd to last row for 20$ & at intermission, moved to Mezzanine box seats. Everyone was moving down to the front row & 2nd row of the balcony after the first song...

But if there's no one in the balcony anyway, what good does it do to jack the prices up?? There'll be even fewer people there now!

If I was in NYC and tickets are only $39, I would totally be seeing it over and over! (I'm just so used to full price tickets, it seems so cheap to me!)

Um. Sweet Charity's highest ticket price is $101.25
Which is average for a Broadway show.
On the night of December 31. The highest priced ticket will be $111.25. That night only.
They also have an amazing Rush.

I'm with Mabel - if they're already not selling well in the balcony, how does raising the price help?!
I guess if they figure they'll sell the same amount regardless, they might as well get more money for each seat. They should do a discounted rush price for unsold balcony seats.

If ASU does get a student rush, I'd be thrilled.
I rather pay 25$ for front row. instead of 20$ for high up balcony seats. That's why I never went through with those balcony seats.

I feel like the producers are really depressed about how the show is doing and may do or something. I think their thoughts are that they might be closing soon, so try to make all the money they can.
This sucks for poor students. When I was in NYC for 5 weeks, we would always purchase the 20 dollar seats. We brought people as well - once we had a party of about 12 people to see the show, and we all sat in balcony.
The orchestra is not selling out - in fact, last Sunday I got row A three hours before the show.
I really hope the producers make SOME seats 20 or 25 dollars.

Getting Row A so soon before isn't the best indicator, though. Front Row seats truly aren't the best seats in the house, ESPECIALLY at the Palace because the stage is so high. So, people may not want them - the middle might fill up faster, or something.
And that's a huge theatre for any show to fill, unfortunately.
