I'll add in some love with the cast. I think I'd put them up there with the Q cast as the nicest, most personable cast I've ever encountered. In addition to being so nice and appreciative of their fans, they really seem to enjoy what they do in the show, and that definitely shows on the stage. Were it to close soon, my first reaction would be that I'm really upset this cast is now out of work, they don't deserve that. They're all talented and probably will have new jobs soon, but for them all to be together and enjoying this show so much is great and a rarity on broadway.
And I really used to be/probably still am somewhat anti-jukebox musicals but this is the first one I actually saw and I do have to say they did work the songs in pretty well and especially during the second act even I finally admitted it was a cute show.
"If there was a Mount Rushmore for Broadway scores, "West Side Story" would be front and center. It snaps, it crackles it pops! It surges with a roar, its energy and sheer life undiminished by the years" - NYPost reviewer Elisabeth Vincentelli
