I'm going to see Wicked tomorrow and I've just been informed that Kendra won't be there. So I have to see her stand-by, Alli. Has anybody seen her play Glinda? Is she any good?

Are you sure Ali will be on as opposed to Lindsay?
Lindsay's going on tonight. Check the thread that says so. And then it says Alli is going on for the rest of the week.
A friend of mine saw Alli a few weeks ago and said she was excellent. I also saw her go on as Penny in the tour of Hairspray and she was wonderful (it was also her first time going on and you could never tell).

She did Snookie in the Pasadena "110" 3 years ago, and last year she was Mallory in LA Reprise's "City of Angels." She was a bundle of energy and a standout performer in each-- I knew she was on a straight shot for Broadway! I'm sure she'll be great as Glinda! Be sure to report!

Heather Spore, the other understudy is playing Glinda next Tues...but I guess Kendra will be back the next day.
Okay. Here's my review of Alli as Glinda. Singing-wise, she was very good. Acting wise? Well, her Popular wasn't really that funny, and she was a really bad fake crier. Her comic timing was really good. But she sang For Good really weird. She would like sing part of a word all drawn out and then clip it short. So I guess a seven out of a ten for Alli.
I saw her go on as Penny is the HAIRSPRAY tour as well. She was wonderful. I bet she'd be an awesome Glinda!

sorry to threadjack but did lisa brescia leave the show? she is no longer listed on the website (nor is any other standby for elphaba for that matter)
Lisa Bescia was NEVER on the Website.
I believe she is still with the show.
The only other standby never to appear on the website was Laura Bell Bundy.
I don't know why these 2 actresses were left off the website. It's not like they havn't updated it (They updated the Wizard)...
so it must be intentional. Don't know why.

Alli is great! She sounds just like a Disney princess to me lol. Almost like Snow White. See for yourself. She's very good
I guess she asked to be left off?
I think there is a reason for it but cannot quite articulate it!
Bundy stood by just after originating a role in Hairspray and thought she was going places.
Brescia had the lead in Times Are a Changing right? And previously had been Maria Friedman's cover in Woman in White...perhaps she felt at this point in her career she didnt want the attention?
There probably is a good reason for it if thats not it. If this was a Cameron Macintosh production you can bet that Elphaba would be alternate and a 6/2 schedule much like Saigon, Guerre and MFL!
This is a little off-topic, but did anybody else notice that Elphaba goes out in the rain during I'm Not That Girl? Why didn't she get melted?

SPOILER
Because water doesn't actually melt her. It was all part of the "scheme" at the end.
