Hey-
I just wanted to vent about this frustrating experience and ask if there's anything I can do to get money back... I was going to NYC Friday to take a teaching proficiency test Saturday, and on a whim, I bought two tickets to the first preview of NEXT TO NORMAL right before I left. The total was $136 for two third row orchestra seats (broadwayoffers.com). I was taking the 2:50 bus from Baltimore and our arrival time was supposed to be 6:15- unfortunately, we sat in traffic and literally moved two miles for two hours of the seven-hour drive, and arrived at 9:30 in midtown. Has this kind of thing ever happened to anyone? The tickets were nonrefundable so I guess there's nothing I can do. Just wanted some commiserating, lol. I'm glad the show was great for those who got to see it.

Assuming you still have the tickets in hand, you MIGHT be able to "post-date"-
If you plan on coming to NYC on another day, you can call the theatre, and if tickets are available for that day (Most likely would have to be a Tues- Thurs performance, I think), they might let you "exchange" the tickets that you couldnt use for tickets for the performance that day.

The website just said the tickets would be held at the box office till five minutes before the performance, but I'll try that. Thanks

That does indeed stink. But, it's no one fault....not the bus company, not the theater and not yours.
Since you didn't pick up the tickets I'm not sure what to tell you. Are you still IN the city? I'd stop by the box office and see what they can tell you.
I'd be sure to save your receipt/order confirmation if you've already left.
I had a similar happentstance: sometime last year or so, I was coming in and the first show I was to see of the Atlantic's Port Authority. Suppose to get in at 11. We had NO traffic UNTIL we go INTO Manhattan. Took us 3 hours to get to our destination; and by the time I got to the theater, I'd missed about 20 minutes of the show.
It was quite disappointing....but at least I got to see most of it; and then was able to snag last minute tickets to its final weekend to see the whole thing.

Posted: 3/29/09 at 1:31pmIf this ever happens to you again, have the Telecharge/Ticketmaster number handy. Even though they say "No refunds/exchanges", I was able to get my Jersey Boys tickets refunded a few years ago when I was delayed at the airport and missed the show. If that helps.

Posted: 3/29/09 at 2:45pmThis happened to me last year when I took a bus up to NY to see Passing Strange and a few other shows. I was able to get a post-date ticket to Passing Strange for the next day. The box office still had my tickets to the show I missed and simply changed them to the following day. Of course, in that case it was not even remotely selling out. I wouldn't think this would be a problem for N2N right now anyway.

#8wss past-dating possible?

hey guys,
im in a dilemma. i recently bought 1 ticket to see west side story this thursday coming up (6/4) but i have another engagement. i probably will not be able to make it. i got it for a great price and obviously want to see it.
do you think it would be possible to keep the ticket and past-date it and use it during the summer? or would it be better/easier to sell? if i do past-date it, do i need a receipt or confirmation?
thanks.

Posted: 5/29/09 at 6:32pmbasically the same exact thing happening to me. but i just went into the box office and told them i had tickets and told them what happened, and they told me to come back to the next show and talk to the house manager who hooked me and my friend up with seats for that performance with no extra charge (and better seats than i would have had)
