Hope a lot of you are planning to check out this show!

Altar Boyz

Altar Boyz (NYMF)
N'Sync meets Nunsense in Altar Boyz, a new comedy about a struggling Christian boy-band riding the wave of America's latest fascination with religion. Armed with catchy melodies, freaky moves and product in their hair, the self-anointed apostles of pop (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and Juan) bring their soul-saving tour to New York City, with their heavenly hits like "Girl, You Make Me Wanna Wait."
(Immaculately) conceived by Marc Kessler and Ken Davenport, The Altar Boyz has an all-star creative team with songs by Gary Adler and Michael Patrick Walker and book by Kevin Del Aguila. Directed by Stafford Arima, and choreographed by Christopher Gattelli, with scenery by Anna Louizos, Altar Boyz stars Cheyenne Jackson, David Josefsberg, Ryan Duncan, Andy Karl and Tyler Maynard.

Schedule:

Thurs., September 16 at 8:00pm
Fri., September 17 at 8:00pm
Sun., September 19 at 4:30 & 8:00pm
Fri., September 24 at 8:00pm
Sat. September 25 at 4:30pm

Now...I think Mr. Jackson is very talented and a lovely human being.

But he looks like he's going to go out and kill toddlers in the picture.

Not that that can't be sexy!

Is that the Marc Kessler that is one of the Manhattan Rhythm Kings?

Like I said in another thread, not my cup of tea but, I love how everyone is saying they all look like 'twinks'. What do you think boys like timberlake and Nick Carter look like, macho men? And at least a couple in that picture (Karl, and Jackson), are a great deal less "twinkish" than say, the *human eyebrow*, or the other one I'm not allowed to mention, lest I get my post erased, you know, the one starring in the show that has a thread dedicated to it that's about 4000 hits long. wink, wink, nudge, nudge, case you didn't get it!

NYY, I got a ticket for 9/26 at 8:00. You don't have it listed in your post, so I'm hoping that was an extra show added since your original post.

I hung out with Cheyenne Jackson in his dressing room waayyyyyy before he tickled D2.

If you haven't gotten a ticket to 'Altar Boyz,' you better hurry. Last night at the New York Musical Theatre Festival gala, they did a number ['Jesus Called Me on His Cell Phone'] that rocked the China Club and the audience went wild.

If you'd like to read some of Cheyenne Jackson's thoughts about the show, here's an interview we did with him at Playbill.com.

Great ad.

I already have my tickets and I can't wait to see it! I've never seen or heard Cheyenne perform in anything so I'm really excited! :)

If you want to see photos of the Altar Boyz at the NYMF gala, they're up at All That Chat (On the Scene: Photos from NYMF gala) at www.talkinbroadway.com; there are two pages of photos.

If the link below doesn't work, go directly to that site. Also featured: Marc Kudisch, Anika Noni Rose, Stephanie D'Abruzzo.

I'm thrilled that Karl is finally in something that has no association to John Travolta. He's a major talent and easy on the eyes, imagine that.

Phanthom,
Andy said he's going on a 6 month tour of On the Radio. I think that's what he said it was called.
