I've heard the new cast is pretty good. Eric Schneider and Zach Hanna, Abe and Mark respectively, are straight off the Detriot/Des Moines tour..thing of Altar Boyz, so they're both well seasoned and very talented. Shaun Taylor-Corbett, Juan, was recently on the big kids show on the Discovery Channel called 'Hi-5', and he has a great voice. The rest of the cast includes Kyle Dean Massey as Matthew and Landon Beard as Luke. I've heard they're great together.
From the little I've heard of them when they were on a local TV show, they're in great shape.
I got hooked on this show late in the summer of this year and have seen it a pretty obscene amount of times since then. My latest time seeing it was last Sunday and the cast is incredible. I don't have much to compare the guys on so I may be a bit biased, but the cast is in amazing shape. Zach Hanna, Eric Schneider, Shaun Taylor-Corbett, Landon Beard and Kyle Dean Massey all are sooo talented (as are the understudies of the show!). You really can't go wrong with the cast right now.
Ah, the best Luke. For me, it's between Andrew Call and Andy Karl. I haven't seen Landon, so I can't speak for him, but .. yeah. I do love James Royce Edwards, though! But he was more fit for Matthew, in my opinion.
See it before Kyle ends up leaving.. which I hope he never does. He's like a replica of Scott Porter (the original Matthew)... I'm not saying they do the same things on stage but they both UNDERSTAND the role of Matthew and perform it PERFECTLY.
I think they were referring to the Off-Broadway production, mominthecty.

"I have also met him in person, and I find him to be quite funny actually. Arrogant and often misinformed, but still funny."

OH Ok, but everyone else from the festival transferred to be "the original off Broadway cast" except Cheyenne. It was at this time that he was cast to play Chad in All Shook Up. Scott Porter was the new Matthew when Altar Boyz got to Dodges Stages.
I read that Cheyenne did every workshop /reading of AB for 3 years - including the NYMTF run, but he ultimately left because he was offered the lead in ASU.
True There are clips of Mathew's 2 big songs on Cheyenne's web site recorded even before the NYMTF. Something about You is hysterical!! check it out http://www.cheyennejackson.com/
