JOHN LITHGOW I just realized, your last name is Butz! Both "Norbert" AND "Butz" are in your name! You must have gotten picked on a lot as a child!

A big congratulations to all involved! It's always nice to see a show receive such glowing reviews.

By the way, can we petition to make Isherwood the first-string Times critic? His reviews actually make sense!

re: Altar Boyz Reviews

I am so happy for the cast/crew/creators of Altar Boyz. It is a great show and these reviews are spot on!

re: Altar Boyz Reviews

It's a rare instance when there are such raves absolutely across the board. Even my "favorite" place, Talkin Broadway, wrote a love letter to the show. Good for them.

Selfishly, I'm even happier that this show got great reviews because it increases the chances of it staying open longer and my chances of seeing it more often! re: Altar Boyz Reviews

WOOHOO I can't wait to see it in April.

Bluewizard I agree completely can we keep Isherwood as the number 1 times reviewer?

Wow...Really SOLID positive reviews across the boards. That's been somewhat of a rarity this season (or in general)

Does the show really live up to these great reviews? I've never seen it...

re: Altar Boyz Reviews

I wasn't expecting much at all, and I liked it far more than I imagined I would.

It's more a concert with some very funny dialogue than a musical play, but the tunes are clever and catchy, and the Boyz are terrifically talented and very easy on the eyes.

And (very important): IT IS NOT EAR-BLEEDINGLY LOUD.

It's a show that radiates good cheer. You'll have a great time.

Master - that sounds like a description of Forever Plaid - would you say they have the same 'feel'?

re: Altar Boyz Reviews

I saw it this past weekend and I was so suprised at how great it was! It was so fun to watch and as a Christian I didn't take offense to it at all. They didn't make fun of Christianity, but at how absurd a Christian Boy Band would be. Go see it, it's a great night of theatre!

Very much so, DGrant. It's like an edgier FOREVER PLAID.

And rclocalz, one of the nice things nice about the show is that it doesn't poke easy fun of any faith. I honestly don't think a Christian Boy Band is that insane an idea - and I would not be surprised if they existed.
