I LOVE LOVE LOVE the show!! I saw it during previews and am going on Tues and Thurs next week! I signed on to this message board just to post this! :) Will I see any of you gregarious fans out there?
I have two questions for those in the know. (alas i'm not one of them!) I just went to see Pieces of Ass in Dodger and I couldn't help wandering over to Number 4 and I saw the "confessions to the altar boyz" box which I had failed to notice previously. Who reads the audience comments? i know it's a ploy but does anyone read them? it would be wild if the boyz did.
About rush tickets, what's the deal? are they really front row or the back row? and what are the best days to go? i live in the city and i would love to go thousands of times like cattlecall but i'm a starving student and i hate to spend my $4 subway fair in vain.
boyz rock!

I don't know who reads them now, if anyone, because the Q&A portion of the show is now scripted, but during the NYMF they actually did read confessions from audience members. In fact my friend and fellow poster MadeofGold might even argue that one of the jokes currently in the show comes directly from her "confession" last summer and I'd be hard pressed to disagree.

Posted: 3/15/05 at 9:05pmThey have to be bought between six and seven. Not before, not after.

They also only do rush on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays!
re: Altar Boyz questions#9
Posted: 3/16/05 at 1:58amThey don't read the audience confessions anymore. Like a previous user stated, the Q&A is scripted, which is a little sad. I don't actually like the scripted questions, either. They could be much funnier than they are. The only question that really needs to be scripted is the third one, which leads into "Something About You".

LOL Trisky, I think I'll ask for my royalties to be delivered to my apartment by Scott Porter!
ITA Magic8Ball. I think the unscripted questions were much funnier but that's my only minor gripe about the show.

Posted: 3/16/05 at 2:09amI absolutely love the show. My only two gripes about it are the scripted Q&A and the fact that Mark's part overshadows all of the other parts. Neither is necessarily a big deal, though. Just nitpicks.

I'm with you actually on both though Tyler does such a standout job that even that's forgiven.
I love this show!

"Tyler does such a standout job that even that's forgiven."
That's EXACTLY why I'm okay with it. Usually something like that would bug the hell out of me. But he's so excellent that I don't even care.

Posted: 3/16/05 at 2:15pmI saw ALTAR BOYZ on Sunday and enjoyed it very much. It's not a "must-see" show, but it is very entertaining. I could drool all over Scott.
