hey i'm also curious to know what they're replacing G. Bush with. anyone seen it recently?
any suggestions for feel-good shows?
 Jan 28 2009, 07:41:40 PM
Hi everyone,
I'm looking to see a show this weekend doesn't matter bway/offbway but I'd like it to be a feel-good romantic show. I don't know if anyone remembers this but the last offbway I adored was Victoria Martin: Math Queen. I'm looking for something in the same vein. Any suggestions for me?

Thank you!
Juliet

re: 'A Heart Full of Love'... who's your favorite Les Miz character?
 Dec 17 2006, 12:20:35 AM
Marius. i can't believe i'm only the second to say that! he's so clueless and hot, i love it. in the book he once though Cosette's name was Ursula. lol

and being a POTO fan, i'd like to say that HE is the equivalent of Raoul, not Cosette.

she was actually was okay in the book (and i must have glazed over Eponine because i can't remember that part at all) but i can't say why Eponine out-shines her so much on stage. it's true that probably her boring songs are to blame.

i agree, but i'm only looking for something during next week though, so i should be alright. lol i'm just so busy lately i haven't been to see as many smaller shows around town as i would like. just thought here was the best place to ask.
a show that is (mostly) "yours"?

i have a friend coming to visit from Texas and i want try to make her less of a tourist despite her innate tendencies to revel in tourism. she requested to see all the big names, you know, stuff people hear about when they're new to theater/musicals...but i want to take her to something that's hot hyped but feels like a discovery of sorts. i don't want to take any real risks since she's only in town for a few days and i thought the best way to convey what i mean is by the feeling you get when
re: SELLING ALTAR BOYZ TICKETS
 Mar 8 2006, 01:25:27 PM
poor abz...nobody wants to pay full price. lol by the way, does anyone know how the show is doing financially? is there somewhere i can go to look comparatively with other offbwy stuff? congrats to them for their one year though despite frequent cast changes.

sorry to see you're still having trouble QMAN, but bwychica is right. fans are just not willing to pay anywhere near full price. broadwaybox just sent out an email offering $35 seats. if you thought at one point that ABz was worth full price, you should try to just switch them for another day. DODGERS WILL LET YOU DO THIS.

i know it's a lot of bother. you basically go to the theater, ask one of the ushers for the manager (Darren or Kane i think) and they'll give you a phone num

I'm glad you feel the same FriedmanFan! I am also puzzled by the origins of "There's a place called home." It sure isn't one of the ones I know off the top of my head either. hmmm

Broadway Boys' Toys for Tots Benefit Review: Who else went?
 Dec 13 2005, 01:19:21 AM
Seasons greetings, Broadway community! I just returned from one of the most enjoyable, intimate, heart-warming and uplifting benefit events in town. I must confess that every year I remember one unmistakable moment that makes me feel the holiday season is truly upon us and if ever there was such an event to bring about the moment, it is this. The Broadway Boys opened the evening with a five part harmony of “Hark! the Herald Angels Sing” and wrapped up with “Silent Night” but the juici
Altar Boyz: Free FULL CDs!
 Oct 23 2005, 10:53:59 PM
apparently the show is giving away free CDs with every ticket purchase using this code (at bwoffers) if you bring your stub to the merch booth: ABCD964. it's a fun item to pick up at the end of the show. just thought i'd share :) for those who've seen it before, i hear they've changed up the choreography on some of the songs! i'm not sure if that's good or bad but maybe it's worth a second viewing... has anyone here seen the new moves?

in other news, Altar Boyz is performing with

Altar Boyz: Cast Changes (again!)
 Sep 15 2005, 11:25:09 PM
Ryan Duncan, an original cast member, is leaving the show on Oct 1st and Daniel Torres will be taking over as "Juan" starting Oct 2nd. I'm sure many of you remember Daniel from his understudy performances at Altar Boyz since it opened. He left briefly to work at Sundance but now he's BACK!!!

Ryan Duncan's currently working at ATrainPlays in the nymf and Daniel is on as "Juan" until Sept 25th so the last week of this month will be Ryan's final week. Please go check him out before h

everything positive said about the original cast is true and i miss them terribly but the new guys (except Danny Calvert because he's already gotten way into the groove of Mark's pants) may need some time to let everything fall into place.

Original Altar Boyz together again! well...sort of
