I already used my Audible trial a few months ago. To anyone who gets this, how does this book work in an audiobook format? The actual book consists of the libretto with annotations, interspersed with essays. How do they translate this into an audiobook? Do they have a reading of the libretto or play the cast recording, and have commentary underneath, or is it just the essays?

I'm listening to the audiobook now from audible. The introduction is read by Jeremy McCarter, Mariska Hargitay then reads the text of the book from chapter to chapter. The last 70 minutes is Lin-Manuel Miranda reading the annotations to the libretto which is included as a PDF (libretto and annotations, not the essays).

Yeah, probably, but the email that popped up in my inbox this morning specifically used the Hamiltome to push it:

I used my audible account a while ago, too.  I just made a new email and then an amazon account, imputted a different credit card and boom free audio book and you also get an additional free download so i got "The Secret Life of the American Musical: How Broadway Shows Are Built," which has great reviews and sounds really interesting and informative.  And I just did this today, the 17, so offer is still available.
