From today’s Briefing: The American Theatre Wing has announced the publication of a tabletop book centered on the history of the Tony Awards. Written by Eila Mell, the book is titled “The Tony Awards: A Celebration of Excellence in Theatre.” ...

Commemorating over 75 years of Broadway greatness with never-before-told stories, rare photos from the American Theatre Wings’ archives and interviews with honorees like Lin-Manuel Miranda, Patti LuPone and Hugh Jackman, the Wing is calling the book the official, authorized guide to the Tony Awards. The book pays tribute to all that happens when the curtain goes up.
