I need your help with my 12,000-song/600-hour Broadway playlist!

I should have thought about this before posting, but if nothing else, just enjoy it if you wanna give it a listen. ✌🏽

I need your help with my 12,000-song/600-hour Broadway playlist!
 Apr 5 2026, 04:17:28 PM

That's fine! I just wanted a place to hit shuffle and listen to as many musicals (and any new to me), so it's different music every time. I didn't have to share it, but some might find it interesting or worth a look and listen. Plus, I just wanted help to see what I could add. I also work with a lot of students and want to help them and others who can't or don't collect CDs or also want more musical theatre history to play through. And the only way to do that is to create

At nearly 12,000 songs and almost 600 hours, I’ve compiled a playlist of over 500 original Broadway cast albums that are available on Apple Music. Before I start diving in and adding some West End, off-Bway, and revival albums, if you notice anything notable missing, please let me know, and I will see if it is available to stream and add to this playlist!  (Surprisingly there are quite a few not available to stream. Hmm… ) Enjoy!

SIX: THE MUSICAL proshot with original West End Queens coming to the US
 Apr 2 2026, 12:57:57 PM

The filmed performance of Six the Musical is coming to theaters this summer from Focus Features. Titled Six the Musical Live!, the cinematic event will debut in theaters for U.S. audiences on August 14, 2026.

The show, filmed live at the Vaudeville Theatre in London, with the original West End Queens reprising their roles: Jarnéia Richard-Noel (Catherine of Aragon), Millie O'Connell (Anne Boleyn), Natalie Paris (Jane Seymour), Alexia McIntosh (Anna of Cleves), Aimie Atkinson (Katherine Howard) and Maiya Quansah-Breed (Catherine Parr).

Six the Musical Live! is written by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss and reimagines the wives of Henry VIII as fierce pop icons in a celebration of sisterhood, empowerment, and pop royalty.

Internationally, the film has already grossed over $8.5 million in the UK and Australia, breaking records, including the biggest opening day ever for a live musical show and the top event cinema release in the UK.

The show was directed for the stage by Lucy Moss & Jamie Armitage and directed for film by Liz Clare. The film is produced by Kenny Wax, Wendy & Andy Barnes, George Stiles and Dione Orrom.

HAPPY FEET musical headed to Minneapolis in 2028
 Mar 18 2026, 04:53:53 PM

Fresh on the heels of “Purple Rain,” the stage adaptation of Prince’s film that had its glitzy world premiere at Minneapolis’ State Theatre in October 2025, another film-to-stage adaptation will take its first bow in the Twin Cities.

“Happy Feet,” the 2006 animated film about Mumble the tap-dancing emperor penguin, is being adapted for the stage and is expected to premiere in Minneapolis in summer 2028.

The news was announced at a recent event for theater insiders in Miami and comes after “Purple Rain,” whose producer, Orin Wolf, vowed to take the show to Broadway (more on than later).

Broadway and film producer Dori Berinstein is behind the “Happy Feet” adaptation effort. Six of her shows have won Tonys, including “Stereophonic,” “Company,” “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” and “Thoroughly Modern Millie.”

Berinstein also executive produced “Dirty Dancing.”

Actors Robin Williams, Elijah Wood, Nicole Kidman, Hugh Jackman, rapper Fat Joe and rocker Chrissie Hynde voiced the animated characters of “Happy Feet.”

No casting has been announced for the stage version.

Minnesota has a history of pre-Broadway tryouts, the biggest of which was “The Lion King,” which premiered in 1997 and transferred to Times Square, where it is still running.
