American in Paris questions

So I'm trying to plan a trip to NYC in early or mid October, and I'd really love to see AAIP while I'm there. It'd be my first trip, though, and I had a couple (hopefully not silly) questions I was hoping someone could help me with.

Rush tickets- I know to check Broadway Spotted for the weekly rush reports, but could anyone who's rushed tell me what sort of seats you ended up with? Again, I know it varies by availability and will probably change by October, but I'm just looking for a ballpark idea.

Cast- two main things. First, I noticed on the AAIP site it mentions Robert Fairchild isn't on for all performances. Is it scheduled days off (like Ramin in Les Mis) or a random thing? Also, any ideas how long the current cast might stick around? I've always wanted to see a show with the original cast.

Stage door- it's around the corner from the entrance to the theater, right? Any anecdotes- good luck, bad luck, matinee luck? Thanks so much- any advice is much appreciated! :)

Rush tickets - I've rushed a few times, and the rush seats are in the balcony only. The number of tickets isn't specified, but in my experience they work their way from the back of the balcony to the front, but the view from up there is fine no matter where you are. If it's a two show day, they will split the line into matinee and evening to keep things moving quicker. Also, if they are sold out, they will sell standing room which is $22 and in the back of the orchestra.

Cast - I'm not sure where on the website it says Robbie only does certain performances, because he doesn't have an alternate, been in all three times I've seen the show, and has only missed a performance once so far here. As far as the stay of the cast, standard contracts are a year, so I'd say in October you'd be seeing everyone, unless something changes.

Stage door - I've stage doored after matinees and both times pretty much everyone came out only missing Jill Paice the first time. Robbie, Leanne, Brandon, Max, and Veanne have all come out both times I've seen the show, as well as several ensemble members.

Edit: Just found the fine print with the mention of Robbie not doing certain shows and Garen being on, so that is definitely a new thing. A friend of mine went on Wednesday night and he was on for Robbie. Not sure if that's a set thing now or not.
