The show opened in 2002 and closed after 17 performaces. Melisa Errico starred. Does anybody know anything about it? Is sheet music avilable anywhere? There are some songs in the show I'd love to sing.
I know that the royalties aren't available to actually produce the show, but I'm sure somebody out there has the sheet music.
thanks michael! thats what i did first when i couldnt find published sheet music-i searched who owned the royalties and alas, had no luck! ive been paroozing the web trying to find the sheet music too, but am failing miserably
I listen to the CD every now and then. It's cute.
I saw the show during it's VERY brief run and adored it.
It was such a fun, frothy, frivolous entertainment. Too Gallic for it's own good, I'm sure.
The cast was sublime and speaks/sings for itself from Gets to Errico to Norm Lewis and Chris Fitzgerald and the rest.
I LOVED the set/direction, particularly when Errico and Gets finally consumate below a sky of stars.
The Pass Partout sequences were staged VERY well and even the ending worked quite well, though different from the original French production/story. I saw it at a preview and even then Gets did things I never thought would be imaginable/actable with an appendage stuck in a wall!
LOVE Legrand, and if you like AMOUR check out the trilogy of sung-through musicals that Legrand did with my favorite French film director, Jacques Demy: LES PARAPLUIES DE CHERBOURG, LES DEMOISELLES DE ROCHEFORT and PEAU D'AINE.
P
