Posted: 3/22/15 at 8:43pmI was talking with someone at the If/Then stage door last night who had just seen the show and she said it was pretty much a full house.

a) they ARE selling that well.
b) I really liked the view from the balcony.
and c) I think it's the sides of the balcony.

Posted: 3/22/15 at 10:47pmI rushed Friday got row C seats 2 and 4 HORRIBLE seats and even worse show.

Posted: 3/22/15 at 10:50pmFunny, that is exactly where I sat. I could see just fine.

Posted: 3/22/15 at 10:53pmWell between the bump out at the front of the stairs and all the people in front of me leaning forward to see it was not ideal. I know the tickets say partial view, not upset for what I spent. Just didn't find the seats all that thrilling, or the show for that matter.

Posted: 3/22/15 at 11:11pmStarcatchers...we understand you're being polite, but it is not a secret to anyone that the Balcony at the Palace is less horrible.
IAn American in Paris Rush#13
Posted: 3/22/15 at 11:17pmhow much are those balcony seats anyway?

Not being polite, that was my honest opinion. I've sat in that balcony for other shows and hated it, but for this one I felt it was fine. Nothing spectacular. I prefer to sit further away for ballets as well, and this show is so ballet heavy.
And Roxy, I do wear some pretty strong specs, so I'm halfway there. :-P

I'm actually quite surprised to hear they're selling out the Palace. I think it's wonderful, and I hope they continue to have such success. I just didn't anticipate their being that much demand for this entity.
For me, this wouldn't be worth more than rush price. Hearing the seats are in the balcony pretty much solidifies that I'll be holding off on this one for now.

They start selling from the back of the balcony to the front. Just FYI. The farther back the better.

Are they still offering the balcony as rush? Are they even offering rush anymore?
Or should I use a discount code to get the balcony? Not sure what to do here.

They're still offering the balcony as rush. I got the last one around 7pm last night and was in the front row. They also (I believe) sold standing room.

Starcatcher, we must have just missed each other! I was there around 6:15/6:30 I think and got a rush seat. The box office attendant was going to put me in balcony row A right on the aisle in the left section (aisle bw center and left where the lip protrusion is), but then ended up putting me in right box FF. The view from there was pretty good actually, but obstructed for scenes happening all the way downstage left. I liked being high up for this show but it is really high so if you get dizzy I might avoid. I had always gotten orchestra at the Palace and never realized how huge it is!
Any my opinion is if you like dance the show is really enjoyable, but without the dancing it would be very mediocre.

Starcatcher, was the lip protrusion really much of a problem? I sized it up and it didnt seem like it would be that bad.

That is F'd up. So the people who get there the earliest get the worst seats and the late comers get the best of the bunch? Makes no sense!
