The entire 54-minute broadcast, never before on YouTube.
Barbara Cook's 1980 PBS broadcast "An Evening with Barbara Cook" with Wally Harper, musical director.
Taped around the time of Cook's second appearance at Carnegie Hall and the release of her second Carnegie Hall album, "It's Better with a Band," the broadcast featured much the same program as the concert and album.
It has long been regarded as an example of Cook in the absolute vocal prime of her comeback.
The concert was never released on VHS, laser or DVD, and all that remains are recordings like these, videotaped from broadcast.

Posted: 7/16/14 at 10:07amBarbara was (and is) always wonderful, but this was an especially good period for her. She looked and sounded magnificent, and her repertoire at the time was so rich and diverse. I wish a good quality DVD of this show could be released. Thank God for the "It's Better With A Band" album.

Incomparably brilliant!
Just saw her recently at Tarrytown Music Hall and she was great. What a voice! What a storyteller! My only perplexing quibble was that she did not do one Sondheim song in the entire set.

Posted: 7/16/14 at 10:29amProbably because she has done so many all-Sondheim shows.
