An amusing Avenue Q story
An amusing Avenue Q story#0

My buddy Tom is a minister up in Maine and his 14-year-old daughter, Patsy, stirred up a bit of controversy at school. Her teacher wanted a class discussion about tolerance and cultural differences and she figured a good way to begin was to ask all the kids to bring in an example of the type of music they like to listen to and play a CD track for everyone. Most of the kids brought in pop or hip-hop, but Patsy introduced her classmates to "Everyone's a Little Bit Racist." The teacher was shocked and said such a song was inappropriate for the classroom.
"Your father's a minister!", she reprimanded. "How would he feel about you listening to this music?"
"It's his CD!", answered Patsy.

Posted: 11/1/04 at 6:11amI lent my copy of Avenue Q to a friend (a ministers daughter) and she loved it...and made her family listen...ive walked in and found her father (the priest) singing along to "You can be as loud as the hell you want (when you're making love)" if only his congregation could witness that...

Hasnt anyone seen Footloose? Preachers daughters are not all they're cracked up to be.
My mother loves the soundtrack, and listens to it when she is working out, cooking and cleaning the house.

The thing about Avenue Q is that it is so brutally truel, that everyone can connect to it.
And I LOVE Footloose
*Starts singing "Mama Says"*

Posted: 11/1/04 at 5:47pmHow could the teacher say that? I'm sure some of those hip hop songs were worded inappropriately at times.
