hahahahahaha, can we talk about my love for Ana Gasteyer. I just listened to her HILARIOUS interview where she refers to that one 'broadwayworld' as "vicious." Who cares if she doesn't fit everyone's "image" of Elphaba...she's freakin hilarious and you can catch the other 2 productions that have the more traditional-looking ethnic/jewish beauty of an Elphaba.

But Elphie is sorta a depressed character. Shes green and her mother died which she blames herself.

Sho, as we have all seen, does NOT have the usual facial structure of Elphie. Ana has a VER good facial structure for it. I wish her nothing but the best!

i have high hopes for ana... the only concern i've had at all is that she looks a little too old for the role... but, maybe green will change that?

What does facial structure have to do with talent and ability? Geez, sometimes we focus too much on really superficial things around here...

I haven't heard her sing much, besides her skits on SNL with Will Ferrel. But I think she'll be amazing. She is a great actress and I think she'll bring something new and fresh to the part.

After listening to the interview, I can't wait to see her as Elphaba. heheh One of the good things of living in Chicago.

The interview was on Seth's Broadway Chatterbox. Its a weekly talk show that is featured on the Broadwayworld radio. However, today was the last day to listen to it, unless they replay it.

There is a GREAT clip from the movie Reefer Madness at www.sho.com where Ana sings. Choose the clip "The Stuff."

It's a great clip. Watching it, I almost choked laughing. I'm excited to see her play Elphaba here in Chicago.

Ana's facial structure actually matches the description in the book pretty well. Angular, hard chin and pointy nose.

I heard her interview too and it was very funny. She sang a bit at the end and she was very good. I wish her the best with Elphaba.

Anyone who saw and heard Ana in Reefer Madness knows she's absolutely up to doing a major musical role like Elphaba in Wicked. I kept seeing her with the green makeup and thinking how perfect she'd look, plus her singing in Reefer Madness was Broadway caliber.

I was very impressed by her performance in "Reefer Madness". Girl's got pipes, and knows how to act a song.

I can understand the concerns about her age. She's one of those actresses who looks much older than she actually is.

But she seems right for Ephelba, to me. She does bear a strong resemblance to Margaret Hamilton. And she's a fine actress, who makes interesting choices.

Mean? Not at all. A resemblance to Margaret Hamilton is a distinct plus in this case.

And for the record, I think that Margaret Hamilton was one of the most fascinating looking actress of all time. A conventional "beauty?" No. But a terrific actress, with an extremely interesting face.

I haven't seen much of her work but I think she'll be a great Elphaba. Sadly, I've got tickets for the tour(May 22), but my friend Cassie and I are planning to get tix for the extended stay as well so we can see Ana...

Just watching Reefer Madness now. Have to say that I thought the stage show was abysmal, but at least it had Michelle Pawk. Ana can't compete with her...

I did enjoy her in Rocky Horror, though. Not that Columbia had tons to do...
