Nor can we beat it by dismissing real concerns as "pc." The casting IS racially loaded. By taking off the probably stupid gorilla suit and hiring a black actor, the play inherently invokes the racism of the Tuskeegee syphilis scandal, which is something that STILL has an impact on the documented distrust large segments of the black commununity feel toward the medical establishment in this country.

Mambo, we don't need people like you to help the situation. We need people who have points to make and not just old situations to bring up. The silent majority of both races are not racist but the audible minority wants you to think otherwise.

That's not the issue at all. But please explain the logic behind: "we don't need people like you to help the situation. We need people who have points to make and not just old situations to bring up."

All discussion points are influenced by history, by the multiple elements that have contributed to the exact moment in time that we are discussing. If you don't think the disasterous relationship between black folks and the medical establishment has its seeds in things like the syphilis experiments because it's an "old situation" and just too boring and blah blah blah for you, I will remind you that even those who do remember the past are often condemned to repeat it.
