And I really hope the Bway show that "may" happen is WOMEN ON THE VERGE....

Regarding the topic of this thread... Many years ago, I had the fortune - misfortune - to attend a late rehearsal (part dress) for Starlight Express (Broadway). Andrew Lloyd Webber was in attendance. The rehearsal wasn't going as planned and it was clear that the atmosphere was tense. Mr. ALW wasn't happy and he made that extremely clear to everyone there. I have never seen someone behave so inappropriately. Not only was he loud and angry and rude, but he was insulting and obnoxious. There was little he said that was helpful and in fact, he only made matters much worse. It was also clear that he had been drinking. He wasn't slurring, or even "drunk", but he was definitely under the influence.
Afterwards, I spoke with several people I knew in the cast and they said that this was typical behavior for him.
Years later, I saw another rehearsal for an ALW show. This time it was for Aspects of Love. This time I thought things were going quite well. Clearly, I was mistaken because although ALW didn't stop the action to rant and rave, he did give notes afterwards and they were less than kind. Again, he was a SOB without care for the esteem of his collaborators.
ALW is an a$$h0!e!

I'm one of few who enjoys ALW musicals and has high respect for him, but I'm not the least bit surprised by Patti's allegations.
I think I'm going to buy the audiobook as well: a great present for my 21st...along with a beer, to appease Mr. Webber.
