Who approved this hot mess? Love the idea, but whoa. Also, what is going on with Eric as Dewey. I am not a fan at all. I was willing to give a pass to the Thanksgiving performance because it was his 2nd week, but he has been there over a month now.

i don't like him but I found the mashup cute. Also Tyler Hanes ended up hurting himself jumping off the desk so I hope you guys enjoyed it.

Ouch, really?
This could have been so much more. It feels like they took the easy route and just stuck the Phantom and Cats people in for little spots that really didn't relate to the SOR song.
And Eric is different that Alex. What I missed is the manic energy Alex brought to the role. Guess it's a hard role to cast.

Some of what he does is remarkably similar to what Alex did and other parts he's made his own with some great improvs and/or different character choices.
It's fun because he's continually finding new stuff. The audience is loving him.

Well that is good to hear. It wasn't his acting that bothered me, it was his vocals. He just doesn't seem to have the upper range with ease like Alex.
PTHespian....
It is completely fair to judge what was seen and heard.
Those five minutes are what hundreds of potential ticket buyers will base their decision on. Those five minutes are a sales pitch to (hopefully) future SOR ticket buyers. Do you think these people care or will consider that "he's better in the theatre?"

This is spot on, however I contend that it was only as out 40% marketing and 60% ego-stroking by Sir Andrew.

It's absolutely fair to judge a product based on its marketing. That's the entire purpose of the marketing.

Like I said, the judgements we make may not be accurate but they are fair to make. That's the purpose of marketing - to make people judge a product (favorably) and spend money on it. Poor marketing does not indicate a poor product (hence, the judgements we make may not be accurate), but it is fair to make them.
In the case of In Transit, we can look at an advertisement and think "I'm not interested in a show involving the subway." That's a fair judgement to make. We could also look at an ad and think "oh I love a cappella music, I'll go check this out!" Also fair. We can watch their b-roll and choose to either pass or buy a ticket. That's the reason they spend lots of money on publicity - so that we make a judgement.
I enjoyed the 4-minute segment for what it is: an advertising piece designed to get audiences to buy tickets and see the ALW shows currently playing on Broadway especially this holiday season. It may very well work, especially for SOR with a lot of kids on Christmas break.

To make it more specific, I watched a press clip for a hypothetical show and I did not enjoy the lead actor's voice. It is absolutely fair for me to say that I don't like his performance and won't buy a ticket to the show. It's fair for me to make that judgement, because that is the purpose of the publicity b-roll.
Maybe when they shot the b-roll or did the morning talk show performancehe was in extremely poor health, and under normal circumstances his voice is perfectly enjoyable. My judgement based on the clip is inaccurate, but it is still a fair judgement because that's what the clip is for. To judge. Hopefully to be judged favorably and result in the purchase of the product being marketed, but it doesn't always work that way.
Surprisingly I enjoyed it. Certainly could have been better as it was a little too mashed up.
