Just had to say that.
On the sunny side, I am thrilled for Anika Noni Rose, Karen Ziemba and Denis O'Hare (and WHY couldn't he have made his appearance at the Center THIS Monday night instead?!).
Jeff Whitty was nominated for his book for Avenue Q.
He WAS? I musta missed it...whew...
See what anger a lack of coffee can do?
Thanks, magruder!
Yup. Book nominees are Avenue Q, Caroline Or Change, Boy from Oz and Wicked.
Good. That is some comfort.

How did Wicked get nominated for best book? How?
Book, I can sorta see. They had to turn a thorny involving book into an Emerald City Version of "Dawson's Creek", and that takes some kind of skill.
It's the choreography nomination that I'm dumbfounded by.
The same way Boy from Oz was Namo, desperation to fill slots in a really lousy season.

In my humble opinion she was robbed of nothing. She could have done a lot more with the role. Uhh...so melodramatic you all.
It is a shame that Ann Harada didn't get a nod, BUT Stephanie D'Abruzzo did!!! and that calls for a WOO HOO!

I think this was a great season! Though every show did lack in some category or another (choreography, direction, etc.) the performers gave amazing performances. Some of the best actors and actressess I have seen this year. I'll have to disagree with you their Al Dente.
I agree, Ann is wonderful! Oh, and we're forgetting Rick Lyon..he's amazing.
But, AQ's gotta bunch of nominations, so, sweet.
Lets see if it will take any though. Avenue Q got my vote for everyone of the categories it got nominated in (besides Best Actor and Best Actress, though I very much enjoyed John and Stephanie, I just dont think they can beat Hugh and Donna, Idina, Kristen, and Tonya.) Wicked will most likely, much to find Namo's misery, will probably bring home the gold this year.
I was sad to see Ann Harada and Rick Lyon missing from the list also.
I'm AMAZED that Beth Fowler from THE BOY FROM OZ made the cut! Did anyone else notice the really, really bad notes she hits in that show? She left us cringing in our seats.
Congrats to Stephanie and John from Q.
I am so happy Ave. Q got the nods it did (especially nice for Steph), but I soooo wanted Ann to get a nomination.
She is such a talented woman that I doubt this will be the last Tony awards season where we will be hoping for her. It didn't happen this year but I think we're gonna be seeing the name Ann Harada for a long time.

Fowler was perfectly in tune when I saw, her, scooter. I think her nomination is as much an acknowledgement of past work as of her role in BFO, which is kind of a shame for Harada. But Fowler doesn't deserve to be pounded because she got nominated- blame the voters. They screwed up. It's not Fowler's fault.
I still ruv her! This is the omission that upsets me the most
Finding Namo- I think Wicked has a great book. It weaves in popular american culture (the movie) into it and I think its very clever and brings out the talents in both women.
WICKED FOR BOOK? As entertaining as I found Wicked.... I must say I thought the book was one of the worst written, poorly structured, over written, desperate peice of trash. And that hussy who wrote it and that coreographer now have to live with their bad work being on display for all to see for probaly a very long time. The Tony at times can be a travesty.
