I believe this starts tonight Off-Broadway. The story caught my attention and then I heard about Steggert being cast and I've always enjoyed his performances. Anyone going?

Nope the theater was empty
A uniformly excellent ensemble cast presenting an absorbing and ineffably sad story. You could have heard a pin drop at the preview I attended.

It'easy to hear a pin drop in an empty theater.
Piss off, dolly!
Thanks, gallerygirl, for your report! Looking forward to hear more thoughts on this one.

No, I'm not pissed off. On the contrary, I'm greatly amused.

Let's say you kinda want to see Rebecca Rittenhouse, but have no interest in the subject matter of the play, is this worth seeing?

Caught the play this afternoon and thought it was one of the finest things if seen in a long time
Bobby Steggert is nothing short of remarkable.
I'd love to hear more about the show. I have tickets for the it next week

This is the kind of play then you will enjoy more if you know less about it
I saw the finale preview performance this evening and absolutely loved it. I went into the play cold and second knowing as little about it as possible before heading in. I purchased my ticket solely on the names of Steggert and Rittenhouse, and both of them delivered, but the play itself was wonderfully written and the entire cast of five played their parts brilliantly.
I've always found Steggert to be an engaging and endearing actor and this rivals his performance in Ragtime; I can still hear his impassioned cry of, "You have traveled everywhere and learned nothing!" I know he has a Tony nomination and been cast in countless shows, but I still feel like he is one of New York's most underrated talents.
The play is only 90 minutes and it flies by. I highly recommend it and expect it to wind up being one of my favorite things all spring.
I think Steggert is an exceptional (and very intelligent) performer- I think the reason he may seem "underrated" is because he often takes less flashy- and often featured- roles in smaller productions. I don't think he pursues work that doesn't genuinely compel him, based on what I know about him as a person.
