It's funny to hear people make comments about her reaction, but if she liked it, that's all that matters. She's happy with what they did with her work. Fans may not be, but let her enjoy her moment.

Like EADS1974, I've met her too at various signings and she's the sweetest and most accomodating woman.

Is it so wrong that she as a high opinion of a show that is dedicated to her legacy? Is it so wrong that she was able to go and enjoy a night of theatre and encouraging others to do the same?

I don't see why you all have to come down so hard on her. She is trying her best to bring people into the broadway community to see the show. If she likes the show, fine. Do we all need to constantly insult her? Also, to those of you who seem to think that she knows that they butchered her characters, I'm glad you have the ability to read minds. Perhaps you should go on TV or something, maybe then everyone can insult your opinions on obscure little message boards.

I really hope she fully meant all of this because at first read, I was so happy to read about an artist satisfied with a piece of work based off her own.
But then I was reminded here that she DOES have a somewhat financial obligation to draw the crowds in. I want to believe her so badly and I think I do, I just hope she was sincere...

I have no doubt that she was sincere. You can tell that passion she has towards the piece in her review.

And, if I recall correctly, Stephen King loved the musical version of "Carrie"...

That's a wonderful review. Thanks so much for posting it.

Mine will be coming soon too!

"I'm learning to dig deep down inside and find the truth within myself and put that out. I think what we identify with in popular music more than anything else is when someone just shares a truth that we can relate to. That's what I'm searching for in my music." - Ron Bohmer

Sincere? Perhaps. Demented? Definitely.

The longer the show stays open the more money Ms. Rice makes.

At first I wasn't going to comment on this because so many of the other comments are so absurd, and I feel that ead1974 said just about everything I was thinking, but I do think it may be a good ides to reiterate a few of his best points. Anne Rice is always the first to stand up and say she is unhappy about something concerning her work, even if it may hurt her pocket. She was not pleased with the idea of Tom Cruise playing Lestat in Interview and was very vocal about her feelings until she saw that he actualy managed to create the best performance of his career with the role. She was quite vocal about her disappointment with the movie Queen of the Damned as well, everyone knows she hated it and she was disappointed about how they butchered her characters in it. She isn't afraid to speak out against what she doesn't like and has yet to rave about something simply to make money. If she says she liked it and feels it did her work justice, then that's how it is, the end. If you saw it and didn't like it, then you didn't like it, but everyone is entitled to their opinion, so get over it.

She has such a talent for writing, that I am actually very excited to see it tomorrow after reading her review. She has this way of captivating a reader, and I am looking foward to seeing the performers. My review, along with pics will be in tomorrow evening after I see the matinee performance! anne rice's review of 'lestat'

...What happened next, was stranger still, a woman breathless and afraid, appeared out of the night, completely dressed in white. She had a secret she would tell, of one who had mistreated her. Her face and frightened gaze, my mind cannot erase...But then she ran from view. She looked so much like you...
