Posted: 6/30/13 at 2:30pmEven though the title was "It's the Hard Knock Life", I wasn't expecting them to focus on that one song for the whole hour. I haven't seen this revival on stage, but what I saw of the final number in the documentary left me underwhelmed by the choreography, especially compared to Peter Gennaro's original material. I understood why Andy wanted to avoid the rags and buckets entirely and try to do something new. In fact, I was glad we were finally getting a new vision for ANNIE after it's essentially calcified into its familiar form after years and years of tours. But what they came up with for that number was... not an improvement or an acceptable substitute for what already existed. "Hard Knock Life" and "Easy Street" were Gennaro's best moments in this show and it would be incredibly difficult for anyone to re-imagine them with any success. I loved the set, though.

Posted: 6/30/13 at 2:31pmI won't be in NY until Thansgiving-and would love to see Faith Prince. Anyone know if she'll still be in it?

We don't even know if the show will still be open.
However, I would guess she's likely to have a 6 month contract. (Unless anyone knows that she's got something else lined up.)

Posted: 7/1/13 at 10:59amIt's now on youtube. Sorry I can't link, I'm on my phone and it's acting up. If you search the title you should find it.

Posted: 7/1/13 at 11:01amJust because they are selling tickets, doesn't mean it will still be open. Shows close. It happens.

Posted: 7/1/13 at 1:19pmLilla's mother has complained publicly about all of the non-paid PR Lilla has had to do, saying she never has a Monday off. Whether or not they got paid for the doc I don't know. I can imagine her mother saying, if you want to interview her for this, you have to pay her, but as they don't interview and of the other stars, that seems unlikely.

Posted: 7/1/13 at 1:21pmFYI; They love Lila and they have a wonderful relationship with the family.

Posted: 7/1/13 at 1:36pmI would really like to know why people continue to bash Lilla's mother. Obviously I don't know her or Lilla or their family, but Lilla seems like a very kind and well-mannered young lady and I would assume she was raised by a very loving mother.

One who was nice enough to take a picture of me and Lilla when I stagedoored at Billy Elliot, I might add!

Posted: 7/1/13 at 2:20pmI felt a little sad when "Molly" (sorry, don't remember her real name) said she didn't play with stuffed animals anymore.

Posted: 7/1/13 at 3:37pmFor the record, I certainly didn't mean to bash Lilla's mother. I don't know the woman. But someone asked about it and I just reported what I'd read. No disrespect meant.

Posted: 7/1/13 at 4:51pmWell, I have read that article as well and there was one other parent who did admit that their own finances were a problem as well.
