I saw it @ the Variety Arts & felt they should have put this on Broadway instead of reviving the original.
I thought this score was better than the original also.It had a 3 piece orchestra in the theater & I was delighted they augmented the orchestra for the recording.

I like "I've Got Me". I think her voice is a little screechy in the end but still a great track. I also like Alene Roberts as Commissioner Doyle in "Above the Law" as well as the McKechnie songs. BTW I saw Roberts in the recent Annie tour and she was great as Ms. Hannigan.
I agree about "The other woman" it's a fun number but kind of disturbing if you think about it. I think the score is good but some songs merit deletion. Like the CD and listen to it a few times a year. Worth the price and the Angel CD had a very comprehensive booklet with all the lyrics and some liner notes. The CD is rare in that it contains the lead-in to almost every major song so you always know what the context is.

New member here ... hello ...
I just got cast in Annie Warbucks as Harriet Doyle (from what I see, not the most sympathetic character
The group was doing Annie but at the eleventh hour the rights were pulled because of a tour coming through North Jersey.
Drat.
I so wanted to be Miss Hannigan !
I was stunned to see the price of the recording ... One for $104! I just want to hear the music not take out a loan.
I've never seen the show or heard any of the music. Any advice ?

With Clay Aiken in Spamalot, all of Broadway is singing a collective "There! Right! There!" -Me-
"Not Barker, Todd is the only person I've ever known who could imitate Katherine Hepburn...in print." -nmartin-
