Another Annoying Hamilton Seat Question

Hi there,

I am so sorry if this has already been asked, but I was wondering if someone might have some insight on the view from the front mezz at the Richard Rodgers? Our seats are right front mezz, row D 18-20. How is the view from there? Should I try to sell these and look for something closer to the center aisle? Or should I just calm the eff down and be excited for the show?

Don't sell them. FRONT mezz is actually pretty good...for any musical.

Many people prefer front mezz because you're far back and high enough to see everything. In Hamilton, there is A LOT going on on the stage at once, so being in front mezz is kind of a good thing. Rear mezz is another tale.

Hi, I am new here and had a couple questions but figured they have been asked before, so I didn't want to start a new thread and since it mainly has to deal with seating I chose this thread...


1. I am looking at buying tickets for a trip I'm taking in September. Yeah, over half a year from now but ticket prices and the popularity of this show have me kinda worried. So do you think I should buy now, or do you think prices would drop over the next several months...or potentially go up even more?

2. I found a couple pairs of tickets and can't decide which would be better. I have never been to this theater and have tried to look up views to get an idea but figured to ask some people who may have already been which seats they would choose:
A) Tuesday Night, Front Mezz Side, Row B, Seats 6&8
B) Wednesday Matinee, Orch Center, Row Q, Seats 106&107

Thanks in advance for any insight!

Yeah, I know the Tony Awards are coming in a few months and will probably drive prices higher if Hamilton wins best musical. I just didn't know if they might drop some over the next few months prior to the awards.

And thanks for your seat suggestion...any specific reason you would choose those seats over the others?

What would be the rationale of dropping prices leading up to the Tonys? All of the performances prior to the Tonys are sold out so it's not like they're having to beg people to come see the show before then.

My reason for picking those seats would be that you're going to get a better view. The mezz hangs over the orchestra starting at row L so you're also going to be closer to the stage than sitting in row Q. Plus you're only 3 and 4 seats off the aisle so it's not like you're on the extreme sides.

Honestly, the first I had heard about this musical was a few weeks ago when I saw the Grammys performance. I got the sound track and thought it was great. Only then did I start to look at ticket prices and they are just insane. I thought perhaps this was due to the recent popularity the show had garnered by being on the Grammys and thought the hype might die down between now and the Tony awards where I figured the hype would then spike again. I am now beginning to see that this isnt some recent phenomenon and that this show has been sold out for a very long time. Honestly, it should be illegal what these ticket re-sell companies are charging, but that's another subject.

Thanks again for your input regarding my seating questions.
