Posted: 7/8/04 at 3:52pmMel Brooks and Thomas Meehan are working on writing the book. Mel Brooks has said that he want Matthew Broderick as Dr.Frankenstein and Kristen Chenowith as the Madeline Kahn part.

Posted: 7/8/04 at 4:00pmThere has to be another Mel Brooks musical, otherwise The Producers will remain 'the new Mel Brooks musical' forever.. it has to become 'the old Mel Brooks musical'.

Posted: 7/8/04 at 4:07pmCloris Leachman was so funny. I can see Carolee Carmello playing that role but no one is going to be as good as Cloris Leachman.

"as good as Cloris Leachman."
Film and theatre are two different media.. The shows wil be two different things,.. I TRY not to compare in who I like better that way

Posted: 7/8/04 at 4:10pmNow that I think of it I dont think anyone can be as good as anyone in the movie. Gene Wilder, Teri Garr, Marty Feldman, Madeline Kahn. They were all so good.
re: Another Mel Brooks musical?#13
Posted: 7/8/04 at 6:14pmThe late great Madeline Kahn is irreplacable.

Brooks just finished writing Frau Blucher's big song, "He Vas My Boyfriend!"
I'd like to see Nancy Opel as Blucher.
One problem with Blazing Saddles for the stage: How do you do a western without horses? Actors in horse suits?

Wouldn't it be neat if they made it like the movie - all black, white, and gray - haha, they'd have to paint the actors faces too. If Idina thinks she's got it bad, wait until the whole cast has to remove their gray makeup.
Okay, okay, just kidding.
