someone said lachanze had a rep for being difficult in the past offstage.. where did that come from? because everything i have heard about her has been the complete opposite.. and wont patti lupone be considered in the new best actress recreating a role category instead of best actress in a musical? because this is a revival..
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

my bad. i see now that the new category is for replacements. i thought it was just general, as in any role that had been played previously on broadway. sorry about that..
my lachanze question still holds however.

LaChanze has been rumored to on occassion be difficult (if you search on BWW you'll find stories about this). Like LuPone however, these rumors are for past Broadway incidents. Let's just focus on the now shall we?
