OK, so I'm from out of state, but kind of obsessed with Broadway. I love good theatre of all kinds: musicals and straight plays. I just love good acting, good dancing and good, thoughtful directing. My plan is to see 15 shows in 9 days from June 6-14.
I am already for sure going to:
Happiness
Next to Normal (rumored last performance of Tveit)
Exit the King
Tony Awards
Billy Elliot
West Side Story
Mary Stuart
Hair
Norman Conquests: Table Manners
Norman Conquests: Living Together
9 to 5
Twelfth Night @ the park
I have 3 more slots: Monday night, Wed mat, Sun mat
I will most likely get TKTS for Blithe Spirit on Wed as I have never seen Angela Lansbury on stage...
But what about Monday and Sunday?
Monday: Rock of Ages, reasons to be pretty, or Everyday Rapture?
Sunday: Waiting for Godot, God of Carnage, Our Town, Joe Turner, or Ruined?
Is there a lot of intense language in GoC?
Thoughts? Thanks!

reasons to be pretty and God of Carnage.
Lots of intense language? I mean, there's some language...but it's comical and not at all intense.
I would recommend reasons to be pretty and God of Carnage too.

hahaha...that was funny Capn
What I meant was lots of four-letter expletives.
Ive heard there's a lot in GoC and rtbp...but are we talking more than like Jersey Boys or Billy Elliot?
I ask because for some of the shows, I'm taking a school group with me...
I would actually recommend GOD OF CARNAGE for a high school or even middle school group. The plot deals with the parents of a young boy who meet with the parents of their child's schoolmate because...(tiny spoiler below)
(they want him to apologize to their son for an incident at school)
Yes, there is language, but MUCH less than BILLY ELLIOT, actually.
Why no Round and Round the Garden?? Trust me, if you want to get the whole experience of The Norman Conquests, you should definitely see all three.

Skip THE BOREDOM CONQUESTS altogether, and see a really intelligent piece of actual theatre, like WAITING FOR GODOT or JOE TURNER'S COME AND GONE, or GOD OF CARNAGE.
I loved Everyday Rapture and I think that should be your Monday night show.

sgv123, I've heard Aaron Tveit's last performance is the day before the Tony's (June 6).
boydowncenter, I saw ItH twice last summer...its one of my favs...but there are too many shows this year for me to use up a slot on a show Ive already seen...
Thanks for all of the suggestions! I still can't decide between God of Carnage, Our Town, Ruined, or Godot...aaaah!

Do not miss the revival of OUR TOWN playing at the Barrow Street theatre. Absolutely brilliant production, if you make it to the end with dry eyes you are Dick Cheney.
OUR TOWN is why we have this thing called theatre that we go to. Don't let this go by.
