That man's voice has to be the most *beautiful* male voice I have ever heard!

Although I've never had the pleasure of seeing him live, I have many recordings of his and I'm always amazed every time I hear him sing. The J&H recording with him, Carolee Carmello and Linda Eder is just gorgeous! I've never heard a better rendition of "This is the Moment" than his.

Now to figure out how to get to Melbourne :)

Blue -- I agree with everything you just said. One of my goals before I die (or before he does) is to go to Australia and see Anthony perform live.

I got told that I could see this for a birthday present. I had no idea Warlow was involved. I think I have died and gone to heaven. You are all angels, aren't you

Hey, Melbourne in July's a bit of a wasteland - cold and grey and all - so flights/accom won't be too expensive re: Anthony Warlow to play the Phantom again! If all the Idina fangirls can flock to London, then I say the Anthony brigade should by rights descend upon us!

re: Anthony Warlow to play the Phantom again!

I would come in a heartbeat if it weren't for this tiny thing of planning on returning to school in the spring. Which also entails going to Germany with my choir. And I'd love to move out of my parent's house some day. And maybe return to NYC.

*le sigh* So many needs, so little cash.

Ah!! I need to find a way to Australia! It's been my goal to see Warlow perform in person for as long as I can remember, but as any of us in the States knows, this is no easy task. One of the greatest musical theatre voices we will ever know, and not at all bad in the acting/dancing departments. You have to respect a voice with the ability to drive off cancer!

But, Boston is WAY too far away from me. I mean, it would take a couple of days for me drive there from where I live.

You won't be rowing down here? I had the welcome mat out and everything.

re: Anthony Warlow to play the Phantom again!

I've done Melbourne - NY and Boston - Melbourne on a few occaisions, jet lag isn't a big problem. The secret is to sleep during the big stretch between LA and Melbourne. For some reason it always seems a lot quicker travelling between LA and Melbourne than going Melbourne and LA if you know what I mean.

Another reason to come is that you get AUS$1.25 for every US$1.00. To get an idea of hotel costs here check:

Eek. QANTAS are fantastic, but also expensive. Try United, or Air New Zealand? re: Anthony Warlow to play the Phantom again!

The good thing about flights to Australia is that they will leave the west coast at night-time, so you're pretty much geared up to sleep in any case. And the jetlag honestly isn't as bad as it sounds like it should be.

re: Anthony Warlow to play the Phantom again!

I had terrible jet lag coming back to San Francisco from Sydney, but almost none going from San Francisco to Auckland.

Of course if you go Air New Zealand you do have to detour via Auckland making the trip about 4 hours longer. Personally I'd rather pay the extra $200 for a direct U.S. - Melbourne flight.

man there must be a cheaper way to get to Australia. what if time and comfort weren't factors? could one book a cheap ticket in the corner of a fishing boat or something?

Well, if you can get yourself to Hawaii cheaply, you can always take advantage of Jetstar's Melbourne-Honolulu flights which are about AU$500 one way :p
