Antisemitism in The Anarchist....

Look, I know the shows a overall mess, but what was the deal with all the antisemitic dialogue in the piece especially considering Mamet is jewish and pro Israel. At one point Patti Lupones character even says something along the lines of "he was jewish, those people are leeches"

I didn't really pick up on anything of that ilk and I usually am pretty attuned to that kind of stuff. If anything, the religious aspect of the piece could be taken as a critique (and I use that word loosely here) of fundamentalist Christians/Catholicism, not any sort of anti-Semitic sentiment.

I haven't seen the show but could it be that Lupone's character, who is, as I understand it, Jewish though either earnestly - or not - finding Jesus, says that line with irony?

For the record the line is, "Marx was a fool. And a Jew. No less a parasite than those he indicted, 'writing.' "

My reading of the Christian conversion was that it was completely disingenuous.
