I saw 3C when it was in New York and thought it was terrific. It had some legal problems with the owners of Three's Company and I didn't think it would get any regional revivals. I'd recommend seeing it if you can.

I think Cuba Gooding Jr. is actually a fairly good actor who has admittedly done some terrible work. I thought he was great in MACHETE KILLS and perfectly fine in THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL.

Yikes. I still want to catch this, though, since I've only seen the movie. Also, I thought Sean Combs was pretty good in MONSTER'S BALL.

I agree with others that it was too long--and I sometimes have problems with Churchill--but I thought it was a decent show. Definitely could have cut, say, the rock throwing skit. "Often, these scenes are virtuosic performances of minimalism; in fewer than two minutes, Ms. Churchill has us invested in characters that another writer could use to build an entire play. At its best, it examines extreme people in ordinary moments—like a woman, her face spotted with zit cream, berating her husband ...

I would go with A DOLL'S HOUSE at BAM if that gets extended again. Terrific production.

I understand what you mean, but I quoted something he said in an interview to make a point about the experience of his performance--if he thought Lear didn't understand love but still managed to move me, I wouldn't really care. And you're right, Isabella Laughland was pretty weak; there was no particular reason I didn't mention it.

I love Frank Langella and think he is a terrific actor, so yes, I would suspect it has something to do with the direction.

Gotta disagree. There are few actors I love as much as Dustin Hoffman, but he was an awful Willy Loman. Though I haven't seen it, I suspect the Lee J. Cobb is the best.

Yeah, when I saw it there was about a 20 minute delay after the intermission. Wouldn't be surprised if someone was injured. But you should really try and see it if you have the chance. It was worth the wait.
