When staged well, J&H is quite good, though I don't think Antonio would be a convincing Brit. I do agree that Melanie comes off as a dingbat most of the time, but in Working Girl, she was PERFECT. I watched the movie again last week and it still holds up well. I think it will be one of those timeless classics.
How I love Antonio in Law of Desire....
I LOVE ANTONIO IN LAW OF DESIRE . Check him out in Tie me Up Tie Me Down. YUM!
for me, he was the only thing worth watching in evita
Yes. The movie came to life with him. I went to a Evita sing along 2 years ago. You should have heard the audience singing with Antonios accent.
I love sexy, swarthy, Latin men. Antonio has those smoldering eyes. Andy Garcia is another gorgeous Latin male. :=) Yes. the only bad thing about Antonio coming back to Broadway is that Melanie will want to do another show. Yikes......
he truly was fantasticalicious in NINE. :)

have never been a big fan of Antonio, though I guess I'm in the minority and his WIFE drives me up a wall. Oh well, to each his or her own...that's what makes the world go round!
He was not greasy and sweaty. He was radiant! Fifth row center first time and mezz second time.
What a pleasure the whole show was (and I had seen the 82 version).
Talk about great moments in theatre. Grand Canal was devastating
I was shocked at how good he was, I mean I've loved him in movies, but I was suprised at his vocal ability to go with the stage presence. I'm hoping to be in New York starting next spring, so it'd be great to have the chance to see him live.
If it wasn't for his accent, he could take over for Hugh in BFO
