When the tickets to the new Nelson play went on sale to the general public, most of the initial run was sold out with the exception of Premium seats
This is a testemant to how much Public subscribers enjoyed The Apple Family plays and look forward to his next series which will follow the same model (but a different family).
I spent my vacation re-reading all four plays and although they were all verry "of the moment" and about the last election, I still found something butifly relevant in all of them. This to me is naturalistic writing at its finest and I'm glad Greenberg and The Public are continuing their colaberation
The Apple Family: Scenes From a Life in the Country can be purchased at Amazon. A film version of all four plays is available online through PBS Great Performances
This new cycle of Nelson plays somehow got past me, sad to say. I was very fortunate that I was able to catch up with all four of the Apple family plays when the Public did them in repertory recently. I don't think I've enjoyed a theatrical experience more, and I'm not an political person usually.
