Any luck with South Pacific rush lately?

I went in the morning last month, but they didn't have. However, now playbill.com says to go 2 hours before. Is it worth a shot?

If you're referring to the cancellation line, you need to get in line many hours before (not sure how early, search the boards).

Student rush, no chance at all. It's selling out every performance--they have no reason to offer student rush.

I went about a week ago to the Vivian Beaumont to ask about their student/SRO/any kind of rush.... And there is NONE. Just the cancellation line.

re: Any luck with South Pacific rush lately?

At this point, there is no student rush for South Pacific. The show is doing so well and selling out that I don't think they'll be doing anything regarding rush in the near future. They did have something called Studenttix in the past, but at this time it's closed. It used to be $20 for tickets for any seat in the Vivian, I used it once for Piazza and sat in the front of the orchestra. But, like I said, currently not available.
I know it's a lot of money, it was my first time paying for a full-priced ticket, but it was worth it. It was a wonderful production. If you plan on doing the cancellation line though, I would get there at least by nine, the box office opens by ten. Its luck of the draw to see how many tickets get sold by cancellation but once you get a ticket, you are free to go... so just bring a book and read re: Any luck with South Pacific rush lately? that's what I did for 4 hours haha but I got there at 7.

cubanpab, I highly doubt it. I searched for a SINGLE ticket last night (any date) and the first that came up was in November.

No.

Studentix is only closed to new members....if you were already a studentix member, you can order a ticket (if you can find one). I used it on the show this summer.
How to properly use its/it's: Its is the possessive. It's is the contraction for it is...

On LCT's site, it actually says there is NO student rush for South Pacific. (Uppercase no comes from the site, not me). I'm so upset though cause I had a studenttix membership that I used for Piazza, but I accidentally let it lapse, and now can't rejoin.

I finally got into StudentTix right before South Pacific went on sale last year. Great timing.

Keep up hope. Everyone will get tickets eventually.

The discount code now includes Friday's so that could be a huge help for anyone who doesn't want to pay full price. It's not a huge discount but it's certainly better than nothing. I went earlier this month and I was second row on the right...I was RIGHT next to the steps the cast use. Awesome seat.

My friend and I just did rush tonight. You should have no problem on a weeknight. We were there promptly at 6pm, when they go on sale, and got Row H of the orchestra, off to the side but still a perfect view. There were lots of empty seats in the sides of the orch and all over the mezz (or "loge", as they call it).

P.S. The woman in front of me said to the box office guy that she was surprised it was still open, given that LCT usually does limited runs, and he replied that they were still going strong and planning to stay open for "at least another year." I guess it remains to be seen whether that holds true, but I thought I'd pass along the info...

re: Any luck with South Pacific rush lately?

My friend and I went a couple of weeks ago on Thursday (I believe they are sticking to Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday only) and had no problem. We were like the 11th and 12th people in line, and got there right before 6. There appeared to be a lot of other seats that would have been available - seemed to be the last couple of rows in the side loge, and they were not close to full. They do take plastic if you need/want to use that.

What is the student ID policy for this show? I am a grad student but also staff, so I can only get one ID and it is says faculty on it. I'd love to rush it, though.
