The preorder on bn.com says January 24th. If it is, then dang. I was hoping it would be sooner than that so I could buy it in the Eugene O'Neill lobby when I see it on Jan. 21st.

They might have it in the lobby of the theater when you go James2. They tend to release things sooner in NYC and in the theaters. Its the same date as The color Purple I believe.

You can get it in New York on Jan. 24th. It's not a higlights CD-- Sondheim wouldn't allow it. It is 2 discs but some songs have been excluded all of which make sense... City on Fire, Parlor Songs...

Are you sure?
The list price is $19.99 and that's VERY cheap for a 2 disc collection - and it's usually going to be sold for $13.99

Some double discs have been priced down lately. At least that's what I'm hoping. A 1 disc recording seems pointless for this type of production.

Not a highlight CD. Sondheim wouldn't allow us to do it. I don't know what the deal is with the pricing. But I bought several 2 disc cast recordings for 19.99 recently.

"Sondheim wouldn't allow us to do it."
Littlewow, that sound slike inside knowledge... is it? or were guessing that Sondheim wouldn't allow it to be done, on principle?

All I am saying is that since the LIST price is $19.99. It is usually going to be sold cheaper for between $13.99 - $16.99.
BUT it's a huge relief if it's really 2 discs!

it's 2 discs. they never recorded several songs so as not to waste money, but these songs are understandably left off because they are difficult to listen to without the context (City on Fire) and Parlor Songs. Almost everything is included in the 2 discs which Sondheim was very much consulted on.

We should just stop guessing what it will be.
A tracklisting should be coming very soon.
