Yeah, Les Poissons sounds a lot like Be Our Guest.
As for the costumes, the Broadway tails are much better, and Sebastian thankfully doesn't have the tuxedo look anymore.

I was pretty disappointed to be honest. A couple of the new songs were good, but the positoovity song and pretty much all the scenes with the friggin seagulls made me want to eat my own head. The sets and costumes were just really bad, the dumbo-ride that comes out for under the sea and kiss the girl was clumsy and stupid. The way they altered the story was really lame. The prince has a contest to find the real voice and decides he loves Ariel anyway. I thought that was just pathetic.
What I did like about it was...uh...the cast album? I'm seriously much happier listening to a FEW of the songs and picturing the show the way it should have been.
I didn't walk in wanting to hate it. I always find something good about shows and I've never, ever seen a show I flat out didn't like until now.

Posted: 3/12/08 at 2:39pmWell, Be Our Guest has the "French" feel, as does Les Poissons (mainly because the reprise of Poissons is in 2/4, like "Be Our Guest"). Anyone want to compare those with Topsy-Turvy from Hunchback?

"The review always are bad, remember Beauty and the beast."
That is simply not true. Beauty and the Beast had a lot of supporters. Liz Smith almost left a stain on the newsprint.
"Be Our Guest has the "French" feel"
There is nothing french about Be Our Guest. It is simply sung with a french accent and has an accordion thrown into the mix. Otherwise it is pure American Broadway.
You could sing Part Of Your world with an accent and get the same "feel."
