Havent been online in a bit .... used to be on more but was looking for some new show suggestions. Last time i was in NYC was last year and saw Fela and wnet to the tony awards.

Thinking of seeing:

Book of Mormon
Catch Me IF you Can
Rain
Memphis (maybe)

... have about 2 other slots. Are there any stand out ones i am missing of the year? Any suggestions, ones you think will be nominated for a Tony? Soo behind the timesAny show suggestions :) was reading through some of the reviews. (fwiw i already saw Pricissila in london)

If you have the open slots, see Memphis. It's definitely worth seeing, I actually really like it, as do others on here. I would also recommend Sister Act for a fun show, and if you are also interested in plays, Good People. I saw How to Succeed and really enjoyed it, and I've yet to see but others rave about Anything Goes.

In my opinion, you should select your shows from these lists:

Musicals (In order)-
Book of Mormon
Sister Act
Anything Goes
Catch Me If You Can
How to Succeed...
Priscilla (Would be higher on the list, but you've already seen it...)

Plays (In no oder)-
Good People
Jerusalem
War Horse
Normal Heart
(The last two are based on good things I've heard. The first two I saw and recommend highly.)

Even if you like the Beatles...skip RAIN. You can always watch ACROSS THE UNIVERSE, go see LOVE in Vegas, or just listen their albums. The stage show is mild entertainment.

If you have four choices, see:

1) WAR HORSE
2) THE BOOK OF MORMON
3) SISTER ACT
4) PRISCILLA

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

you know its funny i've probably been to 45-50 broadway shows over the years and only seen 1 play ... not sure why ... i normally just do musicals. I really should consider branching out more.

Fwiw, I was that way up until this year, when I finally saw some plays on Broadway, and was glad I did. This is a strong year for plays.
