Well, the other day when I saw Dracula I told Tom Hewitt how much I loved it and asked if they would be making a cast recording and he said with a smile and jokingly "Yeah, they're not really into making those now." I felt really bad that I asked.

That was kind of bitchy! He might be right though. If you've heard/seen the potition(SP?) on one of the Broadway sites about recording studios not recording meny more Broadway shows because they dont sell well. I hope they do record it, because like I said before, I want to hear whats so bad about it!

Posted: 9/19/04 at 2:21amI dont understand why theres a question whether dracula is recorded. Its Frank Wildhorn.. It doesnt matter if its not his best show. His name and huge fan base will make it sell fine.

Posted: 9/19/04 at 2:44ami wanted to see dracula just because of wildhorn. jekyll and hyde and scarlett pimpernell were both good (well, the music from scarlett pimpernell, never saw it, but i saw jekyll... that was good)

Posted: 9/19/04 at 11:42amThey'll probably make a recording sooner or later, anything to make SOME money.

Posted: 9/19/04 at 1:17pmIt would have to sell pretty well to make any money. First they have to recoupe what they spend on it. Anything after that is profit, and it is doubtfull they would make one.

Posted: 9/19/04 at 1:40pmEven if the show is a flop, I'm sure sales for an official recording would be worthwhile. Just think how many discs would sell if they ever released an official recording of Broadway's biggest flop..... Carrie. I'm sure that curiosity alone would drive sales for that thru the roof ---- bigger than the recordings of Rent, Wicked, Haorspray, and the Producers combined.

Posted: 9/19/04 at 2:21pmI would find a recording of audience comments more entertaining than the score.
