Posted: 11/10/12 at 5:14pmI saw it. Some parts of the production are great, and some kind of suck. The cast was pretty forgettable- the girl playing Natalie was the stand-out, in my opinion. I thought the staging was really good. I didn't like the lighting or sound design- it was hard to hear the actors over the band. The band was also off (not in sync with the actors) at times. It's nice to see that the show has life in NYC after Broadway, though.

Posted: 11/10/12 at 5:48pmSaw it two Fridays ago. Agree with ahhrealmonsters... the star of the show for me was Elena Ricardo, who played Natalie. She seemed to have the deepest interpretation and I loved her voice. I thought her voice had a similar quality to Jennifer Damiano, as did my friend who had never seen the Broadway show in person, but had listened to the Original Cast Recording repeatedly. I also thought that Eric Michael Knop and Nicole Powell were easy to watch. Eric seemed to have a more sinister interpretation than I remember Aaron Tveit having, but I was also much, much closer, so it was easier to see his facial expression. I wasn't quite as impressed by the rest of the cast, but I enjoyed the show overall. Also had difficulty hearing singing over the music, which was frustrating, and the lighting actually gave me a headache because it was bright and in my eyes being in the front row. It was nice to see the show again after a few years and I do recommend it, especially for $10 on TDF.
