I bought the CD of the 1930 musical FINE AND DANDY from PS Classics Inc., and I haven't been able to take it off my CD player! It has an excellent bouncy score from a rare female Broadway songwriter Kay Swift (who had a longtime affair with George Gershwin). I especially love the title song, "Can This Be Love?" and "Let's Go Eat Worms in the Garden". The parts are sung by such seasoned theatre vetrans as Mark Linn-Baker, Gavin Creel, Jennifer Laura Thompson, Carolee Carmello, and Andrea Burns among others. You can order it at any local record store, or online at www.amazon.com, www.cduniverse.com, or www.footlight.com
PS Classics Inc. is a not-for-profit organization committed to preserve and record musicals on CD that have never been recorded (Next on their list is the Rodgers and Hart musical SPRING IS HERE). They also restore lost-lost scores as well. As a not-for-profit organization, they need the help of donations to keep their organization going. I have already made a donation myself, and they are TAX-DEDUCTIBLE. If you would like to help this worthy cause, please send a check or money order to:
PS Classics Inc.

To donate online, find out more about the organization, or to send your own suggestions to what obscure musicals you would like them to put on CD, go to www.psclassics.org . They are very friendly and take all suggestions seriously.
In an age when the major record companies have all but abandoned remastering cast recordings on CD, it is wonderful that PS Classics Inc. is doing such a wonderful project. Let's show our support!

I've had the album about a week and really like it too. I hope people will support this important work. It's unfortunate that there is not enough of a market for albums of this type for them to be done by regular for-profit companies. That might encourage more companies and organizations to do similar projects. Of course, I guess there can be advantages to not being totally dependent on sales.
I'm going to promote and support this company as much as possible. Hell, this is our best chance to get shows that were never recorded before such as LOVE LIFE on CD!
