I agree that it is silly to argue that one knows what is going to win for sure, but it is always fun to debate/discuss Broadway!
(We're all kinda ridiculous here- some more than others!)

"One thing is for sure, there are certainly going to be a lot of choices this year and it will be an interesting race."
You hit the nail right on the head. Last season, the only two serious contenders were Jersey Boys and The Drowsy Chaperone, while The Color Purple and The Wedding Singer were there to fill the category up. This year, we'll have the two critical hits Grey Gardens and Spring Awakening, plus the promising Curtains and LoveMusik. Unless they turn out to be vastly disappointing I'd say we've got at least four good contenders.

I beg to differ about Color Purple being a filler.
But yeah, speculating is fine. Saying who will win, well, that's another story.

When I was at GREY GARDENS last Sunday, I also heard someone talking about how MARY POPPINS was going to win the Tony for Best Musical as they were exiting the theatre
I sure hope not!
I'm personally pulling for GREY GARDENS, but I haven't seen any other of the "potential" nominees yet, so it is a bit early to judge!
But 4 months till the nominations come out...
