If you have, I have a question for you. I have an code for Scoundrels tickets and was looking them up on Telecharge. The first offer was for left orchestra about 5 seats off the aisle. I believe it was row K...now, are those partial view and will I have problems seeing?

Another offer I saw was for center orchestra, but they were for row R which is a little farther up? Should I compromise sitting farther back so that I can get the center seats?...or should I take left orch because they're closer?

The Imperial is one of the very few BWAY theatres I have never been in so any help from people who have would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

The Imperial is nicely set up- I don't think there are partial view seats, unless the scenery somehow interferes. As for the distance vs. center argument, I have no idea. That's pretty much up to you.

I sat on the side of the imperial before, and I couldn't see a lot fo that stage on my side...but I think it was a little more to the extreme side than 5 seats in.

I've sat row F left orchestra for the boy from oz and those were great seats. If you do sit farther back, the seats should be really good. I sat there for Les Miz, and it was a great view, but the overhang from the balcony blocks the very very top of the stage. For example, I couldn't see the flag at the top of the baracade for Les Miz.

Ken Mandelbaum once wrote that he finds the Imperial theatre as the best musical house on Broadway.

If it were THE BOY FROM OZ ( with really minimal sets, except for the finale staircase), you would have been better off as close to the stage as possible ( aka as ogling Hugh re: Anyone been in the Imperial theatre?). I once sat for that show on Row A ( second row) but next closest to the wall - but my friend and I did have a good view of everything, except for one scene where the piano covered up some of the action. But that was the performance date I had gone to when we were chosen for the BICOASTAL sequence
...

If the show is very strong on sets and spectacle, you may want to sit further back. If it helps any, the stage at the Imperial is not too high, and make viewing near the front easier .

They charge scoundrel ( aka "premium") prices for the center seats except for towards the back ( I think you mentioned Row R) for the new offering at the Imperial. I am not sure if they also charge premium for some of the good aisle seats on the Left and Right orchestra. This was the practice for tickets for THE BOY FROM OZ towards the last few months of the show.

I am glad I already have tickets for DRS.
