Lead Actress in a Musical 2026

But that's really not ever what happens. Context matters, and narratives come into play. Always.

Kecia Lewis is offended again
 Dec 14 2025, 06:46:10 PM

Oh no, this sucks.

I finally saw Hell's Kitchen a few weeks ago, and while I thought the show was okay, I was absolutely blown away by Kecia Lewis. I couldn't believe how much she was giving to a show that was not rising to the level of depth and heart she was giving on that stage, and so long into her run.

But this makes me feel icky about her.

And to be clear, if I were Jeannette, I would not post this video on the day Kecia leaves

Meet the Cartozians at 2nd Stage

Saw it this weekend and this is one of the best things I've seen all year. I honestly haven't heard too much word of mouth about it, and think it deserves a lot more chatter than it is getting. I found it to be so niche and specific but deeply universal all at once. The way Talene Monahan has taken this subject and used it to shine a huge light on so much of American culture was astounding to me.

The entire cast is wonderful as well. Cannot recommend this one eno

LIBERATION Reviews

Oh, I am tearing up at these reviews. I really hope this critical response can bolster this show and turn it into the hit it deserves to be.

I saw this. Obviously it’s a great team and an absolutely stacked cast of amazing talent.

I’m glad I saw it but the play does need to be some trimming and molding.

I felt like Marin Ireland’s character had the central and clearest arc though I agree the change in her character comes about too quickly/unexpectedly and not entirely in a good way. But she’s an absolutely thrilling actor and sells it.

I admit maybe i

Not from a musical but it's basically the same opening as Teenage Dirtbag.

I actually think that’s a really smart key art concept. The execution just feels off. I can’t put my finger on it but the photo itself feels a little uncanny valley/overcooked and the way the text is overlaying is a little of too. But from a broad standpoint—a really great idea IMO. Show them empowered, hey people talking, and also avoid any shock people people looking into the show and being deterred by the nudity.

I guess the only thing is—di

Isn’t its run this spring the runway? One could argue it’s more likely it would lose any steam by spring and get lost in what is usually a busier part of the season.

I do think this show could be a hit—but it would need more than 14 weeks. I think shows like Maybe Happy Ending and John Proctor have shown how great word of mouth ca

Respectfully, the TikTok being referred to here came from an account with 87 followers that is less than two weeks old. That’s probably part of it. It came across as the owner of that account posting.

and respectfully I am someone who thinks we need to believe and take seriously what people say in terms of SA. But the allegations here are barely allegations at all. The person just vaguely says the party “made unwanted sexual advances” without any sort of

The best news. I also hope they bring the full cast. I get why they might want to get a name but the cast was part of what made this so special.

JOHN PROCTOR IS THE VILLAIN to be adapted to film; Tina Fey, Marc Platt, & Sadie Sink producing
 Jul 21 2025, 12:50:14 PM

I think it’s very possible this film has been in development longer than we might think. In interviews, Belflower has said Sadie had the script as far back as 2022. It entirely possible that turning it into a film after the Broadway run way always part of the plan (unless the play never caught on). I don’t know how timelines usually play out but I wonder if this is something that could be under way as soon as Sadie is done with Spider Man.

I can’t imagine why Sa

no major outlets reviewed the show? Why would they do that? Having no major outlets reviews looks pretty bad.

I mean, she has a knee injury, and we don't know what it is. It's entirely possible no one even knows if she can recover in time to return

Well Michael Jackson is dead, so his musical isn’t really putting anyone in immediate danger in that regard.

On the other hand—Rudin is a lead producer who will be in contact with folks on a daily basis, and there is no one to watch over him.

I supposed the better way to word the question is:

How in the world is what’s he’s done not considered egregious enough to land him on this list. He’s sent people to the hospital. I don’t feel like someone like that needs to be getting a second chance with actors.
