Anyone else disappointed in choice of DAMN YANKEES for Encores?

The only one who was able to make anything special or new in that concert was Lillias White singing "Don't Rain On My Parade." And I don't think that casting would work...

Yeah, I wasn't really a fan of the girls' performances in the concert, except for a few: "People," "Don't Rain on My Parade," and "Sadie, Sadie." I enjoyed the performances as sort of isolated performances, don't think any of the performers from that night (Foster, Menzel, Carmello, Krakowski, Murney, LaChanze, etc) would be any good in the actual role.
Stephanie J. Block is another name that gets thrown around whenever a FUNNY GIRL thread pops up and I'm always yawning by the time I get to the "J."
You don't like the Kritzer idea, Jewishboy? I've never heard her sing from the role (if anyone can change that, it'd be lovely
) but judging from her previous work and what I've heard from her Papermill run, she would make a swell Fanny Brice.

I'm fine with Damn Yankees, I've never seen it live.
And, allofmylife, there have been at least two local high school productions of Gypsy in the last 10 years in my area, and none of Damn Yankees. And, it's been 12 years since Damn Yankees, but 5 since Gypsy. However, this revival of Gypsy seems to have been worth it.

I'd love to see Ana Gasteyer in Funny Girl. I don't care if she's too old. I saw Kritzer at the Papermill, and while she was OK, I want to see Gasteyer take it on.
I saw the last Broadway revival of Damn Yankees and was underwhelmed, so I'm not enthused about this production.

Not exactly a fierce decision.
