A simply amazing concert that I'll remember for years to come. Here's hoping she'll do a few more!

Last night was an absolutely incredible evening. Not only was her performance absolutely sensational, but I loved crying one moment, laughing the next- she's brilliant.
And... I finally met my idol at the stagedoor! It was surreal! She took time to talk to everyone, and sign and take pictures with everyone. A truly classy woman. She was so sweet to me and I gave her a letter I had written her. It was just astonishing. I'm still on a Bernadette-high!

Posted: 5/2/06 at 11:49amEveryone seems to be missing Shenandoah sung with a simple harmonica only accompaniment which meant she actually sang a capella most of the time. The soft song sung with her voice floating through Avery Fisher Hall. Just stunning!

I was just going to say that - it's one of my favorite songs, and I was thrillled to hear her sing it.
She also sang "My Romance"/"The Way You Look Tonight"

the untitled song is from BOUNCE . And it's called "Isn't He Something?"
and it's not a LOVE song -- it's a song a mother sings about her SON !!
and her rendition was a ZILLION times better than Jane Powell on the cast recording from the DC production.
:) :) :)

Posted: 5/3/06 at 2:57amSeth - I understand what you're saying, but I would like to think that a mother could sing a love song to her son. Not everything has to be received through a purient filter.

Wow--I didn't recognize it and I saw Bounce! I'm faced!
It makes sense, though, as it has just that kind of motherly ability to be able to put a positive spin on an errant child's flaws. (I think my dog is just adorable when he mis-behaves...)
And the NYT review is positive, but somewhat off the mark, IMHO. He did remember to mention the atrocious sound system though, which we all forgot, but certainly all noticed. Not a hall designed for the human voice.

Posted: 5/3/06 at 5:01pmI found this review to be rather negative towards Ms. Peters. IT seems very off the mark.
